The 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Wins Best New Crossover Award

Hyundai’s all-new 2013 Santa Fe was named Best New Crossover by the Greater Atlanta Automotive Media Association (GAAMA) during the press preview day at the 2013 Atlanta International Auto Show.

"For this year's Best Crossover Award, GAAMA chose the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe for its handsome new design, luxurious interior, impressive technologies, accessible pricing and the flexibility for 5- and 7- passenger configurations," said GAAMA President, Davis Adams.

For 2013, the all-new Hyundai Santa Fe delivers with its versatile nature, two wheelbase layouts, powerful yet efficient engine options and excellent value for money. At $28,350, buyers can have seven-passenger capability, a 290 horsepower 3.3 liter V6, Hyundai’s 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty, and five years of complimentary Roadside Assistance. These attributes impressed the judges enough to earn a win as Best New Crossover for 2013.

“It’s an honor to receive the award for Best New Crossover for the 2013 Santa Fe,” said Mike O’Brien, vice president, Product and Corporate Planning, Hyundai Motor America. “GAAMA is full of exceptional automotive media and this accolade proves that the all-new Santa Fe has what it takes to succeed in a very competitive market.”

Determined by a panel of judges consisting of automotive journalists from around the southern United States, the GAAMA awards take into account all-new vehicles in varying categories. The show room floor is thoroughly inspected for vehicles that stand out in terms of value, performance, innovation and features. With the objective to further professionalism within all aspects of the automotive media, GAAMA brings together journalists, manufactures, dealers and other related automotive members for a connection that can enhance the automotive industry in regards to the southern United States and beyond.

Mets and Hyundai Reach Multi-Year Partnership For Hyundai Club At Citi Field

The New York Mets and Hyundai Motor America today announced a multi-year partnership for naming rights to the Hyundai Club at Citi Field, putting the spotlight on the Hyundai brand in the New York area as it continues to launch new vehicles and attract more customers.

The Hyundai Club, formerly known as the Champions Club, is an all-inclusive premium seating area located on the field level behind home plate with 660 seats spanning to the dugouts. The gourmet buffet includes a daily chef selection of carved meats and pasta and unlimited non-alcoholic beverages. A selection of peanuts, popcorn, fresh baked cookies and ice cream are also available.

Hyundai will have the exclusive right to showcase one of its vehicles on the Field Level concourse in front of the club for all 81 games. The multi-year agreement is an expansion of a partnership that began last year with an outfield sign and presence on SNY.

“Citi Field provides a great venue to showcase an award-winning Hyundai line-up that continues to get even stronger,” said Ken Bloech, General Manager for Hyundai Motor America’s Eastern Region. “Over the course of the season, we look forward to having Mets’ fans enjoy games from the comfort of the Hyundai Club. We’ll also be displaying a range of vehicles from an all-new, three-row Santa Fe that’s perfect for families to a redesigned Equus sedan that delivers a higher level of refinement for the luxury segment.”

“We are proud to grow our relationship with Hyundai to including branding rights for one of the premiere seating locations at Citi Field,” said Dave Howard, Executive Vice President Business Operations. “Hyundai is the latest partner to join us for what will be an exciting All-Star season for Mets fans.”

Hyundai Motor America Reports Best-Ever February Sales

Hyundai Motor America announced an all-time February sales record of 52,311 units; up two percent over last year’s all-time record February and up a similar amount for the year.

“February was another record month for Hyundai – we had a terrific President’s Day weekend event to kick off the spring selling season, much improved inventory levels, and great access to credit available to a broader band of buyers,” said Dave Zuchowski, executive vice president of sales. “Our performance was led by the all-new Santa Fe and the award winning Elantra, both of which saw double-digit sales gains over 2012.”

The all-new Santa Fe saw a huge 64 percent increase over the same period last year and is up 42 percent year-to-date. The Elantra, which was recognized as a “top car pick” as best budget car by a highly regarded consumer magazine earlier this week, posted year-over-year gains for February of 17 percent and is up 15 percent for the year. Sales to rental accounts and government agencies accounted for 15 percent of the February volume.

Hyundai Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicles also recorded a best-ever volume month with 5,627 sales, up nine percent versus 2012. Full year CPO volume of 11,020 units is up 12 percent versus 2012.

“Our biggest-ever Super Bowl and Academy Awards presence drove great interest in the Hyundai brand, especially the all-new Santa Fe. The all-new seven-passenger version of the Santa Fe will begin hitting showrooms shortly after our media introduction this month, adding to the strength of our crossover line-up,” said John Krafcik, president and CEO, Hyundai Motor America. Santa Fe was recently recognized by U.S. News and World Report as the “Best 3-Row Midsize SUV for the Money.”
